ENGINEERING
AT SPEED.

Motorsport brings together the areas of engineering that interest me most — vehicle performance, data, mechanical systems, driver feedback and fast, collaborative problem solving.

Radical Academy Canada

Junior Race Engineer
Ontario & Quebec // May — September 2026

Working with Radical Academy Canada gave me hands-on experience in a professional trackside environment, supporting race engineering throughout testing and race weekends.

I worked alongside the engineering team and drivers to support vehicle performance, analyze data and contribute to decisions throughout each session.

The role strengthened my ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where communication, technical understanding and attention to detail directly affect performance.

Run. Review. Debrief. Adjust.

Race engineering is an iterative process. Each session generates information that can be combined with driver feedback and engineering observations to prepare for the next run.

01 // RUN

Run

Support the car and driver during the session while monitoring the information needed for post-session analysis.

02 // REVIEW

Review

Analyze vehicle and driver data to identify trends, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.

03 // DEBRIEF

Debrief

Combine telemetry with driver feedback to understand what happened on track and why.

04 // ADJUST

Adjust

Use the information from the previous session to support setup and performance decisions for the next run.

Turning data into decisions.

Data provides an objective view of what the car and driver are doing on track. I supported the review of vehicle and driver performance data throughout race weekends to help identify areas for improvement.

That information was considered alongside driver feedback and track conditions, helping build a more complete understanding of each session and supporting decisions for subsequent runs.

01 // VEHICLE

Life Racing

Used to monitor and analyze the health and performance of the car, providing insight into vehicle systems and behaviour throughout each session.

02 // DRIVER

RaceStudio

Used to analyze driver performance, compare laps and identify opportunities to improve consistency, technique and lap time.

Engineering in real time.

Trackside engineering requires decisions to be made quickly while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Between sessions, the available window to analyze data, communicate with drivers and prepare for the next run can be extremely limited.

Working in that environment strengthened my ability to prioritize information, communicate clearly and adapt as conditions changed throughout a race weekend.

It also gave me a greater understanding of the relationship between engineering decisions, vehicle behaviour and the driver's experience behind the wheel.

Queen's Racing

My involvement with Queen's Racing has allowed me to approach motorsport from the vehicle design side through my work on the Cockpit & Ergonomics subteam.

My technical work has included cockpit packaging, driver ergonomics and the development of a custom Formula SAE driver seat, taking designs from CAD through manufacturing and vehicle integration.

Alongside my technical role, I serve as Logistics & Professional Development Lead, supporting team operations and creating opportunities for members to build industry connections and professional skills.
